>Wikipedia’s content and popularity has grown substantially over the last two decades. Now, it is growing to better meet the needs of Internet users today.

>For the first time in over ten years, Wikipedia is getting a new look. A series of improvements to Wikipedia’s desktop interface will make the site easier to use and more welcoming for readers and contributors alike.

> A series of improvements
Not only have they removed borders that sectioned parts of the website into clear chunks, 1/3 of the page is just empty space with the rest just entirely squashed into the middle. Who thought this would be a good idea?
[]
Nobody wanted that.
[]
spam them with complaints
it's like their team was just fucking bored and decided to play around with things

This change was already implemented in French Wikipedia 2 years ago and they were slowly rolling it over to other versions of Wikipedia, but now it finally arrived to the English version.

I REALLY hate this change since I have a 2560x1440 display and 60% of the space is wasted ヽ(`Д´)ノ , users of other Wikipedias have already complained about this change but Wikimedia refused to acknowledge these complaint because of muh ui experts or something.

>“Maybe all I’ll be best known for for is making the already-visited links a little bit more purple,” design team member Hollender told me.

this old wikipedia layout. I use wikiless too, but a lot of the time I go back to normal wikipedia because it lets you hover over links to get definitions of stuff
