During the night of the Chinese New Year in Monterey Park (Los Angeles County), a gunman entered Star Dance Studio and killed 10, and injured 10 more.

The next day, a white van, which was considered to be connected to the shooting, was found at the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, CA. A SWAT team was dispatched to the location.
